Communications Manager Responsibilities
Campaign Leadership & Strategy
Support the ideation, planning, and execution of integrated PR and digital campaigns.
Manage live campaigns and projects on a day-to-day basis, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
Monitor media coverage and social media performance, providing insights and recommendations to optimize campaign outcomes.
Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance client campaigns and drive measurable results.
Client & Media Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, potential clients, suppliers, and media contacts.
Issue media releases to journalists and oversee press release sell-in to secure coverage.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic input and creative solutions to meet their communication goals.
Represent Jailbird at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings.
Content Creation & Social Media Management
Create engaging content for pitches, plans, media releases, content creator briefs, and social media platforms.
Oversee the company’s social media presence, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and aligned with campaign objectives.
Stay ahead of platform trends and algorithm updates, bringing new ideas to the table to keep our strategies cutting-edge.
Collaborate with influencers and content creators to amplify client messaging and reach new audiences.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Train, support, and mentor junior team members, ensuring their work aligns with company standards and client expectations.
Host pre-meeting calls to assign tasks, clarify priorities, and provide guidance to junior team members.
Review and approve junior team members’ work before it’s shared with clients or the broader team.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging creativity and professional growth.
Research & Analysis
Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, cultural topics, and current affairs to inform campaign strategies.
Analyze campaign performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimize future efforts.
Maintain and update media lists, gifting boxes, and outreach lists in collaboration with junior team members.
Business Development
Contribute to new business pitches, bringing fresh ideas and creative solutions to the table.
Identify opportunities for growth and innovation within existing client accounts.
Support the development of Jailbird’s brand and reputation as a leader in the communications industry.
What We’re Looking For
A confident leader with at least 3-5 years of experience in PR, communications, or a related field.
A strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing successful campaigns.
A digital native with excellent knowledge of social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
A skilled copywriter with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
A relationship builder who excels at managing client and media partnerships.
A team player with a passion for mentoring and supporting junior team members.
A creative problem-solver with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a sense of humour.
